Small Ewenny Cat ( Catws ) 7 1/2 inch SOLD
A rare Ewenny cat 7 1/2 inch tall. This little cat is illustrated in "Ewenny, Potteries ,Potters and Pots" by Gwyneth and Ieuan Evans page 98 where he or she is described as follows. " Seated, legs and tail moulded integrally to body. Bright green glaze with black patches over slip, wearing a collar and finished with a bow. Sgraffito inscription Catws " Enclosed base with the mark (incised script ) Jones C 1900 Small amount of slip loss as is usual with Ewenny pottery SOLD		£ 850.00
