Ewenny " Y Mochin " Jug. Horace Elliott 9 inch approx. SOLD
An Ewenny jug with the rarer double looped tail for the handle by Horace Elliott. No mark but in indelible pencil "Elliott London ". A similar example can be found in a new work ,a second edition of Ewenny potteries by Gwynneth and Ieuan Evans, page165, where it is described as follows. "Height to spout 9 1/2 inch Capacity 2 pints honey mustard glaze. Decorated with sgraffito pig features, the spout in the form of a snout with the double looped tail for the handle, Caitlin Jenkins commented that this was an extremely difficult handle to produce. This example has the same mark "Elliott London " in indelible pencil. Restoration to lower lip of spout, no slip loss. SOLD		£ 550.00
